2012 ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Our 2012 midweek Advent Vespers services will commence on Wednesday, December 5 at 7 PM.  The theme for this year's midweek preaching and worship comes from the well loved children's Christmas hymn "God Loves Me Dearly" (Lutheran Service Book hymn number 392).  This hymn was written in 1852 by a pastor who was active in the ministry to homeless and disadvantaged children.  Scroll down to read a detailed schedule of Advent and Christmas worship services at St. Paul's this season.

November 21 - Thanksgiving Eve Vespers at 7 PM.

• Everyone is invited to bring donations of non-perishable food supplies to support the work of the Lutheran Mission Society.
• Students from St. Paul's School will sing at this service.

December 2 - The First Sunday in Advent (Ad Te Levavi).

• 8:30 AM:  Non-communion service. 
• 9:45 AM:  Sunday school / Bible study. 
• 11 AM:  Service of Holy Communion.

December 5 - Wednesday Advent Vespers at 7 PM.

• Sermon:  "God's Love Covers Me with Christ" (Jeremiah 23:5-8).                                        

December 9 - The Second Sunday in Advent (Populus Zion).

• 8:30 AM:  Service of Holy Communion. 
• 9:45 AM:  Sunday school / Bible study. 
• 11 AM:  Non-communion service (students from St. Paul's School will sing at this service). 

December 12 - Wednesday Advent Vespers at 7 PM.

• Sermon:  "God's Saving Love Stirs Up My Heart" (Malachi 4:1-6).

December 14 - St. Paul's School Christmas Choral Concert at 7 PM.

December 16 - The Third Sunday in Advent (Gaudete).

• 8:30 AM:  Non-communion service (our church's choirs will lead this worship service of anthems, carols, and readings from the Bible).
• 9:45 AM:  Cookie walk (in the Parish Hall).
• 11 AM:  Non-communion service (our Sunday school students will present their Christmas pageant at this service).

December 19 - Wednesday Advent Vespers at 7 PM.

• Sermon:  "God's Saving Love Speaks Comfort and Joy" (Isaiah 40:1-11).

December 23 - The Fourth Sunday in Advent (Rorate Coeli).

• 10 AM:  Non-communion service.

December 24 - Christmas Eve.

• Family Service at 7 PM (non-communion).
• Candlelight Service at 11 PM (non-communion).
• Sermon:  "God's Love is Our Greatest Gift" (1 John 4:9-11). 

December 25 - Christmas Day.

• 10 AM:  Service of Holy Communion.
• Sermon:  "God's Saving Love Frees Me" (Isaiah 9:2-7).

December 30 - The First Sunday After Christmas.

• 10 AM:  Service of Holy Communion.
