A WORD OF WELCOME

Welcome to the web site of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church of Kingsville, Maryland, a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  We at Saint Paul's are spiritual descendants of Martin Luther and his fellow reformers of the 16th century.  As such, we joyfully believe, teach, and confess the doctrine of the one true Christian faith as it is revealed in the Holy Bible and confessed in the Book of Concord of 1580.  By the gift of the Holy Spirit we proclaim Jesus Christ -- true God and true man, who was crucified, rose from the dead, and lives and reigns now and forever -- as the only way to peace with God, salvation, and eternal life in heaven.

This web site will tell you about our beliefs and our church.  We also have a link to our school's independent site.  We've included a page to help you in your daily devotions and a list of several excellent Christian links.  If you live in the Baltimore-Harford counties region or plan to visit or move to this part of Maryland, we invite you to visit our parish.  Our worship services follow the historic liturgy and liturgical calendar of the church because they faithfully convey to us the Lord's precious grace in Word and Sacrament.  We also practice closed communion as is clearly taught in the Holy Scriptures.  Click on the following links to see our worship schedule, meet our pastor and our DCE intern, listen to sermons, read the latest edition of our church newsletter, learn about what kind of church we are, find out about the history of our parish, and get driving directions to Saint Paul's.

If you have a prayer need, you can send it to our pastor from our prayer requests page.  Please e-mail us, sign our guest book, or call us at 410-592-8100 if you'd like more information about Saint Paul's.  May our gracious God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- bless and keep you always!

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION

SERMON ARCHIVE UPDATE

FYI, we've uploaded several of Pastor Wollman's recent sermons to our sermon archive.

ADULT INSTRUCTION CLASS

Pastor Wollman has formed a new Adult Instruction Class (AIC).  This class held its first meeting on Sunday, January 29 and will continue to meet for 10 - 12 weeks each Sunday immediately after later service.  AIC is a systematic presentation of the basic doctrines of the Christian faith as found in the Holy Bible and confessed and explained in Luther's Small Catechism.  The primary purpose of AIC is to introduce interested adults to the Christian faith and bring them into full communicant membership with Saint Paul's.  However, AIC is also an excellent way for current members of our congregation to review the fundamentals of Lutheran doctrine and practice.  If you or someone you know would like to attend this class, please contact the church office at 410-582-8100 or send us an e-mail.

DATE NIGHT CHALLENGE

The Stephen Ministry at Saint Paul's is sponsoring a Date Night Challenge.  Married, engaged, and dating couples are invited to participate.  The event will take place on Saturday, February 11 starting at 6 PM and ending at about 10.  Date Night Challenge will include a two-hour webcast featuring authors Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley, comedian Jeff Allen, and singer/songwriter Michael O'Brien as well as a catered dinner.  The recommended fee is $40 per couple.  We will provide free child care for kids three and older who have been potty trained.  Click here to download a registration form.  For more information, please send an e-mail to the event planners.

MIDWEEK LENTEN SERVICES AT SAINT PAUL'S

The season of Lent starts on February 22.  This year's mid-week Lenten Vespers series at Saint Paul's is entitled God's Gift of Forgiveness.  As the title suggests, this series will explore God's gracious gift of forgiveness to sinners, especially as we find this forgiveness is in the Seven Penitential Psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, and 143) and in the church's practice of Confession and Absolution.  As is our tradition, various church and school organizations and committees will serve fellowship dinners before each Wednesday evening service (except Ash Wednesday).  The dinners will start at about 6 PM in the Parish Hall across from the main church building.  All are invited to share in these meals before worship.  Please join us at Saint Paul's during this season as we give thanks to God for the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Click here to see our midweek worship schedule.
