Saint Paul's is a
Stephen Ministry congregation

Welcome to the web site of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church of Kingsville, Maryland, a congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  We at Saint Paul's are spiritual descendants of Martin Luther and his fellow reformers of the 16th century.  As such, we joyfully believe, teach, and confess the doctrine of the one true Christian faith as it is revealed in the Holy Bible and confessed in the Book of Concord of 1580.  By the gift of the Holy Spirit we proclaim Jesus Christ -- true God and true man, who was crucified, rose from the dead, and lives and reigns now and forever -- as the only way to salvation, eternal life, and heaven.

This web site will tell you about our beliefs, our church, and our school.  We've also included a page to help you in your daily devotions and a list of several excellent Christian links.  If you live in the Baltimore-Harford counties region or plan to visit or move to this part of Maryland, we invite you to visit our parish.  Our worship services follow the historic liturgy and liturgical calendar of the church because they faithfully convey to us the Lord's precious grace in Word and Sacrament.  We also practice closed communion as is clearly taught in the Holy Scriptures.  Click on the following links to see our worship schedule, read a brief history of our parish, and get driving directions to Saint Paul's.

If you have a prayer need, you can send it to our pastors from our prayer requests page.  Please e-mail us, sign our guest book, or call us at 410-592-8100 if you'd like more information about Saint Paul's.  May our gracious God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- bless and keep you always!

THE LORD AND GIVER OF LIFE

THE DAY OF PENTECOST

God the Father's Christmas gift to the world of His only Son and Christ's Easter triumph over the power of sin, death, and the devil would be of no benefit to us if the Holy Spirit did not give us the gift of faith.  Through the Word and Sacraments, the Holy Spirit gives Christians the power to believe and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.   This is why the church confesses the Holy Spirit to be "the Lord and Giver of Life" as is stated so beautifully in the Nicene CreedThe Spirit's gift of saving faith is what the church celebrates on the day of Pentecost, the wonderful festival that takes place fifty days after EasterJoin us for worship at Saint Paul's to receive the Holy Spirit's gifts.  Our two Sunday services are at 8:30 and 11 AM, with Sunday school and Bible study for all ages in between.  As is our tradition at Saint Paul's, the Rite of Confirmation will be celebrated at our 11 AM service that Sunday.  Come, Holy Spirit!  Fill the hearts of the faithful, and kindle in them the fire of Your Love!  Amen.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION

PENTECOST, CONFIRMATION, AND TRINITY

Although the Great Fifty Days have come to a close, the church's celebration of God's grace in Jesus Christ continues!  Pentecost, the birthday of the Christian church and the great festival commemorating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that occurred ten days after our Lord's ascension to heaven, takes place this year on May 11.  Pentecost celebrates in a very special way the gift of saving faith which comes only from the Holy Spirit working through Word and Sacrament.  That's why this is the third "mega-festival" of the liturgical calendar -- the other two are Christmas and Easter -- and an essential observance in the life of the church.  In keeping with our tradition at Saint Paul's, we will celebrate the Rite of Confirmation at the 11 AM service that day.  Several of our young men and women will publicly confess their faith in Christ that the Holy Spirit implanted in their hearts at baptism.  The key to understanding confirmation is to recognize that the faith these young people will confess is not of their own making; it is the gracious gift of God which He gives through His means of grace.  And if all this were not enough, May 18 is Trinity Sunday, the day Christians set aside to meditate on the impenetrable mystery of our Three-in-One God:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  The 11 AM service on this day will also be first communion for our new confirmands.  Click on the various links to learn more about these festival days.  Please join us at Saint Paul's to worship our gracious God and receive His good gifts of forgiveness and everlasting life through Jesus Christ.
