MEET OUR DCE INTERN

Mr. Michael Hartley

Michael Hartley was born in Sacramento, CA, on June 20, 1989.  He grew up in the nearby Fair Oaks where he attended Faith Lutheran Church and School from pre-school through grade 8.  Michael was an active member of the youth group at Faith.  He went on to attend Del Campo High School, a public school in Fair Oaks.

Following high school, Michael studied at Concordia University Irvine in southern CA where he majored in Christian Education Leadership.  In addition to his classes at CUI, Michael was a writer, photographer, and assistant editor of the university newspaper, the Concordia Courier.  He trained for ministry work at nearby Light of Christ Lutheran Church.  Michael earned his Bachelor's degree in May of 2011.

Michael arrived at Saint Paul's in August 2011 to complete his training by serving as our Director of Christian Education intern.  After finishing his 12 month internship, he will have fulfilled the requirements to become a rostered DCE in the LCMS and therefore eligible for a call by a congregation.  Michael's focus at Saint Paul's is on developing our youth ministry programs.  He is also taking an active role in Sunday school and junior confirmation.
